lexiebec collections- REBEL, CONQUER & re-deFINE

               The RUN is an experience of the evolution of woman. The concept was first developed through the idea of communication, how humans interact and what develops as a side effect to this process.  This led to research a more defined area of communication, which was inspired mostly by the book Sex, Time and Power; How Women’s Sexuality Shaped Human Evolution by Leonard Shlain.  The book discusses how the power of woman’s sexuality effects and shapes society.

After researching the phases, attitudes and rites of passages my mission is to create jewelry that conveys the contemporary woman. This woman embodies the full evolution of these transitions. She embraces the girl, young woman and the complete woman with the understanding that as she evolves she transforms not only herself but also society. Society is forced to evolve by paying homage to her development.

The RUN is the experience of the woman’s evolution divided into three attitudes REBEL, CONQUER & re-deFINE.  The collection is a progression expressed through adornment; each piece is an external manifestation of the internal movement. These transitions are visually communicated through the unique handling and development of materials and techniques.

To RUN is to celebration the interconnection that provides us the ability to create rhythm of life.
